OCONOMOWOC – Once they turned the key, the pushed the gas pedal to the floor and never hit the brakes.

Members of the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 varsity baseball team scored runs in the first five innings of the game to drive their way to an 11-7 win over Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon at Roosevelt Park.

Earlier in the day, Zach Beekman’s RBI single in the first inning and RBI double during a two-run fourth were the highlights of BD’s 4-2 win over Hartford, also at Roosevelt Park.

Charlie Storhoff pitched a gem in the win over Hartford, spinning six innings of scoreless ball before letting up two runs in the top of the seventh. He scattered eight hits and two walks over his seven innings of work and struck out six in the victory.

BD is now 11-3 on the summer.
