The Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 JV baseball team went 3-0 at the tournament it played host to Friday and Saturday, capping things off with a 9-5 win over Green Bay in the championship game.

BD trailed 3-0 after the first against Green Bay but Carter Marquardt’s two-run single capped off a three-run third that tied things up at 3-3 and then Broden Boschert’s two-out RBI triple in the fourth made it 4-3 to give BD the lead for good.

Broschert also had an RBI single to cap off BD’s five-run fifth that stretched the lead to 9-3 – and he had a triple and 3 RBIs in the 10-3 win over Slinger earlier in the day that sent Post 146 into the championship game.

Max Klawitter started that game against Slinger and went the distance, notching 10 strikeouts while scattering six hits and three walks over his seven innings of work.

It was a banner weekend for Boschert, in fact, as he started things off by driving in four in BD’s 11-1 win over Sun Prairie on Friday night in the opener – meaning he had 9 RBIs in three games to help power Post 146 to the championship.

Brandon LeBeau got the win for BD against Sun Prairie, going all five innings (the game was ended after five because of the mercy rule) while letting up only two hits and no walks and striking out five.
