CEDARBURG — The best is still to come for Beaver Dam’s prep girls swimming team, which won’t lose anyone to graduation after tripling last season’s win total with three victories this year.

That may be — but the Golden Beavers were pretty good in their 2017 finale, too.

Almost everyone posted a personal-record time at Saturday’s WIAA Division 1 sectional meet, where Beaver Dam finished 10th in the 12-team field

“The team has really grown this season and I am so happy to see their hard work pay off,” Beavers head coach Jenna Wisdorf said via email. “I believe that we still have much room for growth (and) improvement, and that’s motivating and exciting.”

A pair of ninth-place finishes were the highlights for the Golden Beavers, as Kaylee Soto, Sydney Foote, Liz Grennon and Morgan McGauley teamed up to do so in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay — shaving 2 seconds and 7 seconds, respectively, off their PRs in the process.

Next best were Camryn Gosdeck, Alyssa Foote, Alexis Bakke and Alex Kraus, who shaved 7 seconds off their PR in the 400 freestyle relay en route to 10th place.

Other notable finishes were turned in by McGauley in the 100 freestyle (12th and more than a second off her PR) and 200 free (15th and 6 seconds off her PR), Grennon in the 100 butterfly (14th and 2 seconds off her PR) and 100 backstroke (15th and 1 second off her PR), Gosdeck in the 200 individual medley (15th and 3 seconds off her PR), Kaylee Soto in the 100 backstroke (16th and a second off her PR), Bakke and Maddie Derrick in the 500 free (16th, and 19th with 5 seconds off her PR, respectively) and Sydney Foote in the 100 breaststroke (17th and 1 second off her PR).
