Emma Dugan

Columbus’ prep girls volleyball team didn’t have the kind of season it hoped to have in the Capitol North Conference, going 2-8 and finishing next to last among the six teams in the league.

That didn’t mean the Cardinals weren’t recognized on the all-conference list, though, as senior Lauren Kirchberg was picked to the second team while junior Emma Dugan received honorable mention.

Lakeside Lutheran, which won the conference title at 9-1 and then went on to rally from a two-sets-to-none deficit in the WIAA Division 2 state championship match to defeat Luxemburg-Casco 19-25, 13-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-10, had the Capitol North player of the year in the senior Amber Rowoldt and led the way with six overall all-conference choices – three on the first team and three honorable mention.
