Boo-U campus targets living, learning center

With the local university continuing to expand by appealing to students looking to transfer to another school — one of the first phases of this expansion has been clearly detailed, thanks to a new master plan.

Tom Pleger, University of Wisconsin — Baraboo/Sauk County dean, said a

$15 million Living and Learning Center (LLC) desired by the campus, was identified as the first major project to tackle among others.

The study lays out the steps to securing that funding, and Pleger is presenting the progress of this to county and city officials this month. The study also explores the need for the center in detail.

"The real point of the plan is to drive a whole variety of future visioning projects for the campus, and that includes what started this — the LLC. We needed to find out how that facility fits on the campus," he said.
