TOWN OF WESTFIELD — A van versus car collision Wednesday took the life of a Plain woman. Authorities say 65-year-old Geraldine M. Bindl was headed south on State Highway 23 about 10 miles south of Reedsburg when a northbound van headed toward her crossed the center line. A news release from Chip Meister, chief deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department, said the two vehicles collided head on and Bindl was pronounced dead at the scene by Sauk County Coroner Betty Hinze. Reedsburg Area Ambulance Service transported the driver of the van,
52-year-old Gerold Neuman of Rock Springs, to Reedsburg Area Medical Center with serious injuries. Meister said Loganville First Responders and Fire Department assisted at the scene, and that the crash is still being investigated by the sheriff’s department.
