Ruth, the daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Sehl) Boohar, was born on May 1, 1910 in Philadelphia, Pa.

She completed elementary and high school in New Jersey, and attended Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. Ruth was united in marriage to Roscoe H. Bowers on Sept. 28, 1935 in Delanco, N.J. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2003. Ruth had been employed by the Bell Telephone Company, Gimble Brothers, and Sears and Roebuck, all in Philadelphia. Throughout the years, Ruth and Roscoe lived in many states and made many friends during their travels. She had been a member of the Emanuel United Methodist Church in Baraboo.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rita Bowers of Baraboo; four grandchildren, Michael Bowers (Kelly, and her daughter, Kate), Susan (Mike) Grogan, John (Traci) Bowers, and David (Carrie) Bowers, all of Baraboo; eight great-grandchildren, Joseph, Anna, Emma and Connor Grogan, Jeremy and Abagail Bowers, and Brandon and Hope Bowers; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Roscoe, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Emory, in 1994; her sister, Grace, and her brother, Ben.

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in the Lake View Memorial Park in Riverton, N.J. The Redlin Funeral Home is assisting the family.
