T-Birds gymnasts 6th at River Valley
RIVER VALLEY — The Baraboo Thunderbirds gymnastics team placed 6th with a score of 103.25 at the River Valley Invite on Saturday.
Platteville/Belmont/Lancaster took the top honors, scoring a 139.525.
"We had a pretty good meet overall," said BHS coach Tammy Porter.
Porter acknowledged the T-Birds performances on the vault, where Tori Bates and Angela Parsons each scored 8.0 to tie for 18th place.
Hayley Mohr, Kylie Delmore and Mariah Weiland all scored in the high 7’s.
"We really had an outstanding meet on the vault," Porter said. "Every girl scored higher than a seven which is a huge accomplishment for us."
On the bars, Delmore set a personal best for the season, notching a 5.725, good enough for 21st.
Sarah Pinkston, who placed fourth in the all-around for Barboo’s junior varsity, was named the squad’s Meet All-Star and Gymnast of the Week.
The Thunderbirds are back in action tonight, hosting a triangular with Milton and Reedsburg.
