Stop by the Columbus Area Senior Center to make Christmas centerpieces on Monday, Nov. 27 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. The project is folding books and magazines to make Christmas trees as table centerpieces. This is a free event for all ages. Participants can take home their creations or donate them to decorate the tables at the Breakfast with Santa on December 2 at the Columbus Pavilion.
On Sunday, Dec. 3 Dianne Bubolz will be teaching a felted mug rug class at The Workshop. She will show how to use wool and a simple rolling technique to make coils that will then be needle-felted onto a wool felt base and embellished with tiny beads. Becky Weidner will help participants decorate a mug with alcohol inks to match their mug rug.
Julianne Moss will teach a Chainemaille Ornament class on Monday, Dec. 4 from 7-9 p.m. Participants will learn how to weave together jump rings to make complex looking ornaments.
Weekly classes at The Workshop are as follows:
Homeschool-Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m.
Exploring Creativity-Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30—5 p.m.
Creative Kids-Fridays from 10-11 a.m.
Classes are offered weekly but can be attended individually. Preregistration is preferred for all classes. This week the Homeschool and Exploring Creativity classes will learn to make Jacob’s Ladder toys; Creative Kids will use trains in craft, play, and sensory activities.
Open Studio times this week at The Workshop are Tuesday from 10 a.m.—5 p.m., Wednesday from 12 p.m.—5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.—2 p.m. Additional times are available by appointment.
