The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking candidates to serve as the 2017-18 Columbus Ambassador. Eligible candidates must be current residents of the city of Columbus and at least 16 to 18 years of age. Each candidate must complete a questionnaire and undergo an interview.

The ambassador is required to represent the City of Columbus with good character, morals and dignity. The ambassador must attend chamber events such as, but not limited to: safe trick-or-treat, the Redbud prince and princess contest, the Firecracker 5 run/walk, the Fourth of July parade, Breakfast with Santa, the Christmas tree lighting downtown and the Chamber’s Annual Meeting.

A scholarship award of $375 will be given to the ambassador at the beginning of his or her term and a second scholarship award of $375 will be given to the ambassador at the end of the term. The 2017-18 term will run from October 2017 to August 2018.

If the ambassador cannot fulfill his or her duties, the title will be given to an alternate. Should there not be an alternate, then no scholarship money will be awarded.

Columbus Ambassador applications my be picked up at the Columbus High School office, 1164 Farnham St. in Columbus. Applications must be returned to the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 362, Columbus, WI 53925, no later than Oct. 1, 2017.
