Myrtle M. “Myrt” Peterson, 88, Columbus, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Home Again Assisted Living in Columbus.
She was born May 30, 1929, in Columbus, the daughter of Edward and Leota (Kreger) Schliewe. Myrt was united in marriage to Philip “Pete” Peterson June 19, 1954. They were married for 63 years until Pete’s passing Aug. 15, 2017.
Myrt is survived by nieces and nephews, Bernice Fehrman of Sun Prairie, Beverly Voelske of Columbus, Ronald (Kathy) Koehn of Columbus, Randy (Marsha) Koehn of Columbus, and Bob (Janell) Koehn of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is further survived by sister-in-law, Mildred Peterson of Madison, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; and her sisters and their husbands, Dorothy (Lawrence) Koehn and Evelyn (Philip) Macaulay.
A funeral service was held at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family thanks the staffs at Home Again Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their excellent and heartfelt care for Myrt as well as for Pete. Thank you to Dr. Colleen Cassidy, Dr. Robert Coe, Home Health United, and Columbus Community Hospital for their care as well.
