BloodCenter of Wisconsin will host the Necedah Community Blood Drive in the multipurpose room at Necedah High School from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The blood drive is open to anyone at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent), 110 pounds and in general good health. Tuesday, October 6

The October meeting of the Monroe/Juneau/Jackson Counties Genealogy Workshop will be held at 7 p.m. at the Monroe County Local History Room and Museum at 200 West Main Street in Sparta. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. to allow participants extra time to look around the museum. Beginners as well as experienced researchers are welcome to attend. The Wonewoc Area Fire Department will hold an open house at the fire station at 200 West Street in Wonewoc from 5 to 8 p.m. This free event will include a barbeque and fire-fighting demonstrations. Dells Delton Figure Skating will hold registration for skating lessons from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Poppy Waterman Ica Arena on 112 Miller Drive in Lake Delton. Classes will run for eight weeks and cover all skills levels. Instructors will be available during registration for mini-lessons and questions. Terrace Heights Retirement Community will host a bus trip for seniors to Prairie Du Chien to tour Villa Louis. Villa Louis is a recently restored Victorian-style mansion. The bus will depart from Terrace Heights at 8 a.m. and the trip will cost $17.75, $10 for the bus ride and $7.75 for the tour. Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston will sponsor a health fair at the American Legion Hall at 108 Center Street in Wonewoc from 7 to 11 a.m. Health care personnel will be on hand to provide free blood pressure screenings, blood sugar screenings and risk factors appraisals. Total cholesterol testing will be offered for $10 (no fasting required) and lipid profiles for $20 (12 hours of fasting required prior to testing). Appointments are required for all tests. The annual Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk for Adams will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church in New Lisbon with registration starting at 9 a.m. and the walk beginning at 10 a.m. The event will include a short walk, refreshments, raffles and prizes awarded to participants. Individuals and teams are welcome to register either the day of the event or online at any time at alz.org. The Right Choice Youth Program will host the Right Choice Chilly Golf Outing at Castle Rock Golf Course in Mauston at 1 p.m. The $55 entry fee for the four person team/best ball outing includes a picnic-style supper and 18 holes of golf including cart, all benefitting the Right Choice Youth Program.
