The Castle Rock-Petenwell Area Lakes Association and Greater Mauston Area Chamber of Commerce will host the River of Memories Rendezvous and Fall Festival on Roosevelt Street in downtown Mauston from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include local crafts, food and a live reenactment of frontier life. The Peppy Pals Homemakers will host a fall fund-raiser for Katie Litkea and family from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hustler Exhibit Hall. Soup, sandwiches and dessert will cost $6 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 10 years old. All proceeds from the benefit will go towards the Katie Litkea Fund. In honor of National Spinning and Weaving Week, local fiber enthusiasts will present crafts, demonstrations and more in the community room at Hatch Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. In addition to the events, samples of spinning and weaving crafts and equipment will be on display throughout the month in the glass case outside of the community room. The Juneau County Health Department will hold a flu/pneumonia clinic at their office in the Juneau County Courthouse in Mauston from 9 to 11 a.m. Vaccines will be available: flu for $30 and pneumonia for $45. Citizens Helping Achieve Mauston Pride (commonly known as CHAMP) will hold their inaugural Halloween costume exchange fund-raiser from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lions Park pavilion on Division Street in Mauston Tuesday or 4 to 5 p.m. at the Grayside Elementary School Commons in Mauston Wednesday. Donations of new and gently used youth and adult-sized costumes will be accepted. Costumes will be on sale for $5 Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grayside Elementary School Commons, and those who donate will receive a coupon for $1 off for each costume donated. Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston will host free early childhood screenings for children birth to 5 years old by appointment throughout the day. A speech pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and audiologist will assess motor and communication skills.
