Mile Bluff Medical Center on Division Street in Mauston will partner with the Blood Center of Wisconsin to hold a community blood drive beginning at 9 a.m. both days. Donors must be 17 years old and older, weigh at least 110 lbs. and should be good health with no current illnesses. Donotions take about an hour and call ahead appointments are appreciated. The Monroe/Juneau/Jackson Counties Genealogy Workshop will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Center on 1002 Superior Avenue in Tomah. The meeting will feature guest speaker Vickie Schnitzier, of Marshfield, the Central Director for the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society and co-editor of their quarterly magazine. Mile Bluff Medical Center will be hosting free diabetes screenings at various locations around Juneau County: from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bank of Mauston on state Highway 82 in Mauston, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Elroy Family Medical Center on Academy Street and from 10 a.m. to noon at Delton Family Medical Center on Commerce Street in Wisconsin Dells. The Aging and Disability Resource Center will hold a forum on housing from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hatch Public Library off State Street in downtown Mauston. The forum will cover housing choices for seniors and disabled persons and is free and open to the public. For more information, call (608) 847-9371.

Fuel assistance applications will be collected at Beagle's Bar and Grill at 107 West Flint St. in Lyndon Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Applicants must bring Social Security numbers for everyone in household, verification of previous three months gross income and fuel and electric costs for Sept. 1 through Aug. 31. The Annual Senior Citizen Holiday Fair will be held Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kendall Community Hall at 219 E South Railroad St. Admission is free and door prizes will be awarded. The American Red Cross will host a blood drive at the fire station in Lyndon Station from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are appreciated; walk-ins are welcome.
