Dennis B. Kaye
Dennis B. Kaye, 69, of Friendship, passed away Nov. 24, 2008, surrounded by his family and his best friend, Buster at the Moundview Memorial Hospital and Clinics in Friendship. Dennis was born March 17, 1939, in Racine, to Bud and Celia (Heckman) Kaye.
He was raised and attended school in Big Flats. He graduated from A-F High School, the class of 1957.
Immediately after graduating he enlisted in the United States Army and served three years in Germany in the transportation division and one year in Fort Chaffee, Ark.
He married Victoria M. Jensen on Oct. 15, 1960, in Arkdale. This marriage was blessed with four children.
Dennis was a brick layer by trade and owned and operated Kaye's Masonry. In 1980 he and Vickie purchased Herbs Standard Station in Friendship and eventually turned it into the ice cream store Mill Hill Sweet Shoppe.
He also owned and operated his trucking business, Kaye's Cartage. Dennis retired from trucking in 2007 due to his health.
He enjoyed golfing, spending time with family, grandchildren, friends and his best friend Buster.
Dennis was a very caring and giving man, he was a donor for the American Tissue Services Foundation that will go to benefit others.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Vickie Kaye of Friendship; dog, Buster; children, Lisa (Randy) Paulson of Arkdale, Loren (Judy) Kaye of Friendship, Lee Ann (Mike) Garmon of Waupaca and Linda (Ron) Yoss of Necedah; special friend, Darin (Joy) Palmer of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Nicholas Garmon of Appleton, Heather Garmon of Neenah, Kyle Paulson of Arkdale and Kayden Yoss of Necedah; step-grandchildren, Ron (Trisha) Yoss of Sun Prairie and Jennifer (James) Manning of Necedah; step-great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Logan, Austin and Carson; mother-in-law, Florence Jensen of Arkdale; sister-in-law, Sonja McLaughlin (Heidi (Rob) and Matthew) of Arkdale; brother-in-law, Donnie (Dona) Jensen of Longs, S.C.; many friends; brother, Wayne Kaye; half-sister, Jane Keyes; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bud; mother, Celia; brother, Garth; father-in-law, Donald; and brother-in law, Scott.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
