Clara Rhodes
Clara Sidney Rhodes, 80, of Adams, Wis., died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at her home following a short illness. Clara was born June 22, 1929, in Seven Mile Creek, Juneau County, to Royal and Norma F. (Clark) Bader.
She married James Rhodes on July 24, 1948, in Rockford, Ill. The couple made their home in Milwaukee until they moved to Adams County in 1973.
Clara enjoyed reading, writing poetry, word puzzles, music, TV, movies, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, flowers, watching birds and nature.
Clara is survived by her son, James Rhodes of Wisconsin Rapids; daughters, Susan (Norman) Thrasher of Adams and Lillian Rhodes of Adams; grandsons, Jason, Jacob, Lucas, Travis and Dakota; granddaughters, Jennifer and Rebekeh; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Arvella Towers of Baraboo and Ina Jackson of Lyndon Station; brothers, Manley Bader of Rockford, Ill. and James Bader of Necedah; special friend, Gary Fuchs of Adams; many nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Roy Bader; husband, James Rhodes; brothers, Harlan, Roy, Norman, and LeRoyce; and infant sister, Ruth Bader.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Roseberry's Funeral Home in Friendship. Interment will be at the Fordham Cemetery, town of Adams, Adams County. Visitation will be at Roseberry's Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 9, from noon until the time of service
