The New Lisbon Rockets girls volleyball team opened up their 2008 season against Scenic Bluffs Conference (SBC) foe the Wonewoc-Center Indians.

Wonewoc-Center got off to a quick start in the first game behind some solid serving by senior Melissa McCracken, to take an early 5-0 lead, that forced a Rockets' timeout.

The Indians continued to increase their lead, taking advantage of several Rocket mistakes, to take control with a 16-5 lead.

New Lisbon calmed down following another timeout, but fell 25-17.

The second game started much like the first, but this time the Rockets' stormed out to a 7-2 lead.

Wonewoc-Center rallied to tie the game at 10-10, but the Rockets scored 10 of the next 11 points to take a commanding 20-11 lead and held on for the 25-14 win.

The teams played extremely close games to finish the match, with the Rockets winning game three 26-24 and winning the match with a 27-25 win in game five.
