Eight students from Grayside Elementary participated in the statewide Battle of the Books competition sponsored by the Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA). The Grayside team was coached by Library Media Technology Specialist Mr. Dan Lahr.

Battle of the Books is a program designed to promote a love of reading. It encourages students to read a variety of books selected by the organization. Students must remember information about the plots, characters, and settings of the books.

WEMTA sponsors an elementary division, a middle level division, and a senior high division. More than 200 elementary teams competed in the statewide competition.
