A mobile home fire displaced multiple people in Armenia. According to a news release by the Armenia fire department, the fire started in the area of the wood stove of the 10th street residence.
The Armenia Fire Department, Nekoosa Ambulance, and Necedah Fire Department responded to the call. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
Two adults were transported by ambulance to Marshfield Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Six adults and one child were able to get out of the residence unharmed. Two pets did not make it out.
Armenia Fire Chief Brian Schauer said by the time the fire department had reached the residence, it was “fully engulfed” in flame.
“At that point, it was about trying to save the structures around it.” The fire destroyed the residence and a garage, and damaged a nearby building.
Schauer said the displaced family is currently staying with relatives.
