Frances Mary Seitz, 94, Mauston, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at the Fair View Nursing Home in Mauston.
Sissy, as she was called by her family, was born Jan. 3, 1923, to parents Michael and Ida Seitz of Mauston. After completing her education she relocated to Washington State to work in the aircraft industry. Upon retirement she returned to Mauston.
Sissy was a great gardener and loved flowers. Her house was virtually surrounded by flowers of all colors and types. She also was fond of animals, especially her chickens and geese. Sissy was devoted to nature and wrote poems about animals, birds and plants.
She is survived by her sister, Mary (Blaine) Kearns of Portage; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Rose (Clement) Penzkover, Irene (Robert) Penzkover, Dorothy (Russell) Van Hoosen, Margaret (Verne) Goodenough and Lauretta (Robert) Deane; and brothers Charles (Evelyn) Seitz, Fredrick (Grace) Seitz and Robert (Bernadine) Seitz.
The family is most appreciative of the Fair View Nursing Home staff for the excellent care provided to Sissy during her last years.
In accordance with her wishes, a private service will be held graveside at St. Patrick Cemetery in Mauston with Reverend Jeff Fairchild and Father John Potaczek conducting the final commendation.
