Gladys (Sis) Wollmer, 89, of Mauston, Wis., passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010. Gladys was born Jan. 16, 1921, the daughter of Paul and Laura Eltag.

She grew up on the Eltag farm, rural Mauston, attended the Lemonweir School and Mauston High School. She married Elmer (Husker) Wollmer on Sept. 2, 1940. Together they owned and operated Husker's Bar and Resort for 30 years.

Gladys will be greatly missed. Her ready laugh, kindness and outgoing spirit brought joy to her family, friends in the Lemonweir Homemakers Club and at the Arches.

She is survived by her son, Jack (Gloria) Wollmer.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, 701 Grove St., Mauston, on Friday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. with Reverend James Steinbrecher officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
