Joel F. Young, 70, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Mauston, Wis., passed away March 16, 2010. He was born April 12, 1939, to Elmer and Marion of Mauston.
He grew up and attended school in Mauston graduating from Madonna High School in 1958. He served in the Army National Guard in Mauston from 1956 to 1959, and then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1962 serving until his retirement as a Master Sergeant in 1982. He visited many places during his military career with his final move following his retirement in 1984 to Widefield, Colorado. He did Logistics for several companies under government contract retiring in 2001.
Joel is survived by his loving wife, Judy; children, Julie Young, James (Melissa) Young and Jennifer (Steve) Peterson; grandchildren, Brendan, Cambria, Dalton, Briana, Loren and Abigail; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, William and Richard Young.
There will be a life celebration on Saturday, March 20, 2010, from
