New Lisbon Rockets 62, Ithaca Bulldogs 48

After being locked in a tight battle in the first half, the Rockets (2-0) pulled away down the stretch for their second win of the young season Tuesday, Dec. 5 at home against Ithaca (1-2).

Junior guard Jared Dvorak was on fire on the offensive end, scoring 22 points on 8 of 13 shooting, including going 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Sophomore forward Coltin Zellmer scored 14 points on 7 of 8 shooting and also grabbed five rebounds. Junior guard Cody Haschke added 14 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists. Holden Rydmark finished the night with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for New Lisbon, who outscored the Bulldogs 33-23 in the second half after only leading by four at halftime.

The Rockets start conference play on the road against Bangor (0-0) Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Royall Panthers 64, Coulee Christian Eagles 40

The Eagles simply had no answer for Royall’s Seth Brown.

The senior small forward went off for 29 points on 12 of 22 shooting from the field and recorded five steals in the Panthers’ 24-point win over Coulee Christian (2-4) Tuesday, Dec.5 in West Salem, Wisconsin. Senior forward Tristan Welchlin added 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting and seven rebounds, while senior guard Jaydyn Enzenbacher finished the night with 10 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. For the Eagles, senior guard Jesse Miller led the way with 13 points and six rebounds.

Royall (3-0) kicks off Scenic Bluffs play on the road against Cashton (0-1) Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Kickapoo Panthers 64, Wonewoc-Center Wolves 41

Wonewoc-Center’s hot start to the season came to a halt on the road against Kickapoo (4-0) Monday, Dec. 4.

The Panthers had three double-digit scorers in their 23-point win: sophomore power forward Coten Svede (17 points), senior forward/guard Jalen Alexander (16) and sophomore guard Owen Cauffman (11). Sophomore shooting guard Tucker Needham and senior guard Noah Shore each scored seven points for the Wolves, while junior point guard Andrew Jacobson added six points and 10 rebounds.

Wonewoc-Center (3-1) begins conference play Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. on the road against Hillsboro (2-1).

Royall Panthers 75, La Farge Wildcats 11

Senior forward Tristan Welchlin recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds and went 10 of 14 from the field in Royall’s blowout win over the Wildcats (0-5) Monday, Dec. 4 in Elroy. Senior small forward Seth Brown also finished the night with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Brown also added five steals.

Senior guard Jaydyn Enzenbacher also had 17 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three steals for the Panthers, while senior guard Nick Murray added 10 points.

Mauston Golden Eagles 79, Westfield Area Pioneers 46

The Golden Eagles (2-1 overall, 1-0 South Central) cruised to a 33-point win in their conference opener Friday, Dec. 1 in Westfield.

It was a well-rounded offensive performance for Mauston, who had four players finish with double-digit scoring. Sophomore guard Cade Hall led the way with 18 points, senior shooting guard Daniel Raabe finished with 17, junior point guard Joe Bauer had 16 and senior guard Dakota Barnier added 11. Junior guard Kaden Roberts scored 13 points to lead the Pioneers (2-2, 0-1).
