JUNEAU – A 53-year-old Beaver Dam man was charged with stalking and false imprisonment on Tuesday after allegedly following a woman across the country and attempting to stop her from seeing her boyfriend.
Nader Abgoon, 221 E. Maple Ave., was charged with felony stalking and false imprisonment and a misdemeanor count charge of disorderly conduct.
If convicted of the felonies, he faces up to nine-and-a-half months in prison and $20,000 in fines.
According to the complaint, the woman’s boyfriend called police after receiving suspicious text messages from her phone. The woman was getting ready to go out with her boyfriend when Abgoon came to her home and trapped her in the bathroom so that she couldn’t go out.
The woman told police that she was afraid that Abgoon would hurt her or himself.
