TOWN OF ASHIPPUN – Harnischfeger County Park is the place to be for the 10th WinterFest event on Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is free.

The park is located at W3048 Crawfish Road, Ixonia, in the southeast corner of Dodge County.

Activities will include horse-drawn sleigh and surrey rides (wagons may be substituted in the event of insufficient snow), concessions, bake sale, chidlrens crafts and activities, caricatures and silent auction and bucket raffles. All but the horse-drawn rides are in the heated clubhouse with plenty of seating.

Free activities include live entertainment throughout the day, dog sled pulling demonstrations, tours of the inside of Dirty Kettle’s tipi while hearing songs of old and listening to Native American stories, visits to the International Wolf Federation interactive display or a presentation in the main clubhouse at 1:30 p.m.

Attendees can participate in the family treasure and scavenger hunts or, weather providing, can bring sleds, tubes and snow boards and take a free vehicle-pulled shuttle wagon ride to the north sledding hill. Attendees can also bring their own snowshoes, cross-country skis or skates.
