JUNEAU – A 43-year-old man was sentenced Monday to two years of incarceration after his probation was revoked from a 2008 Mayville burglary.

Thomas N. Lang, Jr. was convicted in 2008 of the theft of more than $3,000 of copper from Mayville Engineering Co. as a party to the crime.

He was sentenced to two years of incarceration and two years of extended supervision after his probation was revoked. He must pay the remaining balance of the original $5,973 in restitution.

According to the criminal complaint, Lang and another man drove to MEC from Milwaukee in August 2007. The other man had the keys to the building, as he had previously worked there, and Lang and the man took 863 pounds of copper wire, valued at $3,736. They also took a laptop computer.

The complaint stated that a scrap business in Milwaukee found receipts from the other man selling the copper.
