At our meeting in May, Melanie Lichtfeld spoke about the Carriage Festival and asked for volunteers to help out. Shifts are still available to staff the upcoming June Dairy Month Promotion at Farmers & Merchants Union Bank. Our club usually hands out cheese and milk.
Michael and Sarah Rowe reported on competing at the Columbia County Clothing Revue. Sarah took judge’s choice and most creative. Michael also took a judge’s choice award. Michael Rowe spoke about attending the Columbia County Youth Lock-In. At rabbit shows in Richland Center and Fond du Lac, Taylor Baerwolf took best of breed for mini-rex and Morgan Baerwolf took reserved champion for guinea pig.
Online registration is active for entering projects in this summer’s fairs. The Lodi Agricultural Fair is July 11 to 14. The Columbia County Fair is July 24 to 28. The registration deadline for both fairs is June 20. After the meeting, Ashtin Hemling did a demonstration on how to make a towel chicken.
