A Prairie du Sac man will serve 15 years behind bars for raping a young girl in February.
As part of a deal with prosecutors, 37-year-old Lazaro Reyes-Hernandez pleaded guilty last week to one count of first-degree child sexual assault. In exchange, prosecutors dismissed a second count of the same charge.
Reyes-Hernandez must serve an additional five years on supervised release after his prison term is complete and register as a sex offender.
A 12-year-old girl called 911 Feb. 21 to report that Reyes-Hernandez had sexually assaulted her. During an interview with a social worker, the girl reported that he had assaulted her a week prior as well, and that she had tried to push him away and told him to stop.
Reyes-Hernandez was sentenced Dec. 14 by Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Michael Screnock.
