The Dodge County Fair Board met Saturday afternoon to conduct board business and to list the acts for the 2015 Dodge County Fair, this year scheduled for Aug. 19 through 23.
Om Wednesday night Scotty McCreery will perform on the main stage. McCreery is an American country music singer. He won the 10th season of American Idol on May 25, 2011. His debut studio album, Clear as Day, was released in October 2011 and was certified platinum in the United States. The album includes the top 20 country songs, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble with Girls.” McCreery released a Christmas album, Christmas with Scotty McCreery, in October 2012 and it has been certified gold. He released his third album, See You Tonight, in October 2013. The first single from the album, also called “See You Tonight,” became his first song to reach the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country charts.
On Thursday Glorianna will perform. Gloriana is an American country music group founded in 2008. It is composed of brothers Tom Gossin and Mike Gossin (vocals, guitar), and Rachel Reinert (vocals). Gloriana released its debut single “Wild at Heart” in February 2009, which was a Top 15 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The group’s self-titled debut album, Gloriana, was released on Aug. 4, 2009. Their second album, A Thousand Miles Left Behind (2012), produced their first Top 10 country hit and first Top 40 pop hit in “(Kissed You) Good Night.”
Friday night’s rock and roll headliner has not yet been named. More information will be released when it becomes available.
On Saturday night the Swon Brothers will perform. The Swon Brothers are an American country music duo from Muskogee, Okla., consisting of Zach and Colton Swon. In 2013, they finished in third place on the fourth season of NBC’s The Voice. They were the first duo to make it from the Top 12 live shows to the season finale. On Nov. 1, 2013, the Swon Brothers signed a record deal with Arista which is part of the Sony group. They released their first official single, “Later On,” the following month. On Oct. 14, 2014, they released their self-titled debut album.
Many old favirites will return for entertainment and exhibts, with admission the same as it was last year. The cost, confirmed by the board on Saturday, is $7 per person before 2 p.m. and $10 per person after 2 p.m. A season tickets costs $27 if purchased before Aug 19, and will Cost $35 if purchased after that date.
