Information is taken from the records of the Portage Police Department and does not represent a comprehensive list of police department activity. Each individual named in this report is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Between 7 a.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday, police responded to 75 calls, including four reports Friday of properties that were toilet-papered, and one house with painted windows, and of several vehicles egged on Saturday.

700 block of East Wisconsin Street: Police at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, while investigating an unrelated matter, cited Joshua D. Krasovec, 23, of Portage, with possession of a controlled substance.

400 block of Herman Street: At 9:03 a.m. Friday, police took a report of a toilet left on the front step of a house.

Highway CX: Police called at 3:45 p.m. Sunday to check on the welfare of a Portage man found in a vehicle behind a business; emergency responders attempted to resuscitate him, but could not. The death is thought to be a suicide.

West Cook and West Wisconsin Streets: At 2:19 a.m. Monday, police stopped a vehicle with a broken brake light. Driver Robbiel L. Stokes, 26, of Portage, was cited for operating while suspended as a sixth offense; the vehicle was towed.

East Wisconsin Street and Southdown Road: Police at 11:38 p.m. Friday stopped a vehicle with a registered owner listed as having a suspended license. Driver Timothy J. Heller, 23, of Madison, was cited with operating while suspended as a eighth offense.

I think the paper and police should be ashamed that they would print that someone committed suicide. Disgusting.
