Marion MacDonald Lebica took that last step into heaven Nov. 20, 2017, in Hartford, at the age of 94.
Born in 1923, she grew up in Tonawanda, New York; the oldest of nine girls. Life was hard at times so she left the area to live in Florida, where she married and raised ten children; six boys and four girls.
Marion is survived by children, Susanne Lutze of Edmund, Oklahoma, Thomas (Elsa) Lebica of Marianna, Florida, Mary (Jim) Lamb of Saratoga, California, Paul Lebica of Columbus, Ohio, Chuck (Delmy) Lebica of Culver City, California, Jay (Barb) Lebica of Hartford, Larry (Mary) Lebica of Windsor and Lou (Linda) Lebica of Henderson, Nevada; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Marion was preceded in death by daughters, Virginia Anne Lebica and Christine Knisely.
While raising a family, Marion owned and operated a motel in Wisconsin Dells. She loved to read a good mystery or detective story, crocheted beautifully and always loved feeding and watching the birds. After retirement from the motel business, Marion lived in Arkansas with her daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Bob Lutze followed by living in California with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Lamb. In September of 2015, Marion returned to Wisconsin for memory care near her son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Barb Lebica.
The family would like to thank Wellington Place of Hartford for their loving care and patience as Marion’s dementia progressed. They would also like to thank Dr. Megan Tkachuk and her nurses for their care and support as well as Seasons Hospice for their compassionate care over Marion’s final days.
Private family services were held.
The Shimon Funeral Home of Hartford assisted the family.
