Dennis L. Fitzgerald, 77, Lyndon Station passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, with his family by his side at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston.

Denny was born April 19, 1936, on the Fitzgerald family farm in Seven Mile Creek Township, Juneau County. He is the son of the late Frank and Anna (Sullivan) Fitzgerald.

June 23, 1956, he married the love of his life, Roberta Cassidy. Denny graduated from Mauston High School and was a member of the high school boxing team. He lived most all his life in Lyndon Station close to his family. Denny was an active member of the Lyndon community, St. Mary’s parish and a retired member of the Lyndon Station Fire Department. He was a carpenter for most of his life. He worked for Hoehn Lumber for many years. Denny loved to be surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was often seen around town on his Farmall Super M tractor.

Denny is survived by his wife, Roberta; sons, Kyran, Darren (Laurie) and Shane (Christy) all of Lyndon Station; daughters, Denise (Olaf Gregerson) Rasmussen of Wisconsin Dells and Deanna (Jerome) Senzig of Lyndon Station; brothers, Mike of South Beloit and Francis “Rusty” of Lyndon Station; sisters, Mary (Henry) Gonzales of South Beloit, Celia La Rue of Ironton and Lucy (Lawrence) Barnes of Mauston; grandchildren, Tori Fitzgerald, Amber Rasmussen, Mariah Rasmussen, Patrick Senzig, Kyra Fitzgerald, Keely Senzig, Cassandra Senzig, Keegan Fitzgerald and Conor Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Kyran Fitzgerald, Aidan Rasmussen, Tasha Fitzgerald, Madelyn Payant, Brody Golden, Kobe Armstrong and Rylee Senzig.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Travis; brother, Patrick; sisters, Geraldine, Ione and Rose; and sister-in-law, Delores.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 117 Juneau St., Lyndon Station, with Father Valentine Joseph celebrating. Visitation will be held at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home, 450 County Road HH, Lyndon Station, from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, with procession to the church for the service at 11 a.m.
