M. LaVona Schorer, 103, Reedsburg

M. LaVona “Vonie” Schorer, 103, of Reedsburg, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at Our House Senior Living, Seventeenth Court, in Reedsburg.

She was born June 27, 1914, in Sauk City, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Moll) Dresen. April 5, 1934, she was married to W.C. Schorer Jr.

Vonie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, volunteering at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center and she was an avid Wisconsin Badger football and basketball fan.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Pat Schorer of Reedsburg; grandson, Cale Schorer and his fiancée, Tayna Cox; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jaxson; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Feb. 5, 1969; parents; and sister, Hazel Schroeder.

A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father David Carrano and Father Tait Schroeder concelebrating. Interment took place at the Sauk City Cemetery. Family and friends were invited for visitation from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10 a.m., Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials for masses or the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund would be appreciated.
