Donald G. Torkelson, 82, of Mauston, formerly of Kenosha, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston.
Donald was born May 17, 1935, in Tomahawk, to George and Dorothy (Massa) Torkelson. He was educated in the schools of Waukegan. Donald worked as a superintendent for AMC for 32 years until his retirement in 1990. He was into anything to do with cars; which were a huge passion of his. He enjoyed NASCAR, auto auctions, drag racing and restoring old cars. He was also a Green Bay Packers fan. Donald truly enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his fiancé, Debbie Ferch of Kenosha; sons, Donald (Susan) of Kokomo, Indiana, Christopher “Big Chris” (Theresa) of Mt. Pleasant, Christopher “Little Chris” (Audrey) of Zion, Illinois, Cary (Linda) of Eugene, Oregon and Cory (Danielle) of Pleasant Prairie; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other family; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Torkelson.
A visitation for Donald was held from 10 a.m. until noon, Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home, 6019 Seventh Ave., Kenosha. Interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park followed. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
