Avis Virginia Blakeslee, 92, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at the Sauk County Health Care Center surrounded by her family.

Avis worked at various jobs during her youth, including Nichols Drug Store and the Badger Ordnance Works and later in life at the family businesses and Lands’ End. Avis’s greatest joy in life was her husband and family. She worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had the best family life possible no matter what sacrifices of her time she had to make. She laughed and smiled at the rambunctious play of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling with Bob and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; five brothers, Robert, Ivan, Maurice, Jim and infant Jackie La Rue; and three sisters, Angie Gibeaut, Alice Scott and Madelyn McFarland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg, with Father David Carrano officiating.
