Barbara Ann “Barb” McCollough, 73, of Baraboo, passed away with her family and friends by her side Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Fitchburg.
Barb, daughter of Victor and Dorothy (Jochman) Kowalke, was born Dec. 9, 1943, in Baraboo. She was a graduate of Reedsburg High School. Barb worked for Badger Ordnance for a short time and retired from Flambeau after 30 years of employment. Barb loved the outdoors, especially sitting in the sun; she was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed socializing.
Barb is survived by her son Shane (Kristen Arnett) McCollough of Wilton; daughter-in-law Tammy Hinze of Hillsboro; siblings, Duane “Butch” (Nancy) Kowalke of Baraboo, Gary (Penny) Kowalke of Baraboo, Tom (Deb) Kowalke of Reedsburg, Judy Braun of Baraboo, Steve (Laurie) Kowalke of Baraboo; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as special friend, Shirley Clark Cahoon of Dodgeville. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother David D. Kowalke and her son, Michael Todd Hinze.
The family will hold a celebration of life gathering from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Glacier Rock, located in the Clarion Hotel in Baraboo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
