COLUMBUS-Muriel J. "Pete" Nehring, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, Muriel "Pete" was born on Dec. 17, 1924, in the daughter of Mabel (Henning) and August Lindert.

She was united in marriage to Marvin M. Nehring Sr., the son of Frank and Gertrude Nehring, on Nov. 4, 1945, in Reeseville. The couple farmed for nearly 30 years prior to moving to Columbus. Pete dearly loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and going out to eat with her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Jane (Dick) Schumann of Portage and LaVonne (Gary) Marks of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Richard, Chad, Jason, Jessica, Holly, Heather, Craig, Cassy and Christi; eleven great grandchildren, Jaden, Ashton, Brandee, Jerzey, Avery, Macie, Jace, Cameron, Kaiden, Dylan and Brooklyn; a sister-in-law, Gladys Nehring; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Pete was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1998; two sons, Marvin Jr. and Myron; two sisters Marjorie Froehlich and Dorothy Paul; daughter-in-law Rose Nehring; other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home. The Rev Robert Moberg will officiate. Private family interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
