Susanne G. Huitfeldt, 58, Columbus, passed away Dec. 12, 2017, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchberg after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. at Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus, with the Rev. Todd Werner officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m.
Susanne was born Susanne Gebriele Reinhardt June 1, 1959, in Erlangen, Bavaria, Germany, to Erika Reinhardt. She was adopted in Germany by SFC Walter Howe of Columbus and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1960. She was raised by her adopted parents Walter and Elfrienda and later Dorothy Howe. She was a graduate of Columbus High School and was known for her hard work as she had worked as a bakery manager at Sentry and Pick n’ Save. Sue was united in marriage to Jeffrey Huitfeldt Oct. 10, 2002. She also worked as a waitress for Country Kitchen and the Columbus Family Restaurant where she touched many lives. Sue attended New Testament Baptist Church in Columbus. In her spare time she loved to bake and root on the Packers. Sue will be fondly remembered as a rare and precious flower that never complained about anything and was tender, kind, and had so much love for her family.
Sue is survived by her husband, Jeffrey of Columbus; her daughters, Jennifer (John) Mosier of Oak Creek, and Erika (Scott) Ebent of Apple Valley, Minnesota; her mother-in-law, Vivian Huitfeldt; her grandchildren, Jasmine, Jax, Evan, and Lilliana; her canine companion, Josie. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; stepmothers, Elfrieda and Dorothy; and her brother, Dennis.
