RICE LAKE - Dale Clarence Montanye, 65, of Rice Lake and formerly of the Reedsburg-Baraboo area, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

He was born March 26, 1946, in Baraboo, to Clifton and Dorothy Neitzel Montanye.

Dale graduated from Webb High School in Reedsburg. He worked in maintenance at gunpowder ammunition plants for more than 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino. He was an avid fan of Wisconsin sports teams: the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers.

He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Montanye of Janesville and Carl (Bonnie) Montanye of Baraboo; two sisters, Elaine Sutfin (Casmir Dzlemiela) of Ladysmith and Norma (Stan) Chandler of Grantsburg; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Skinner Funeral Home in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held next summer in the Baraboo area.
