Jeanette Arlene Anderson, 86, of Baraboo, formerly of Richland Center and Janesville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo.

She was born May 23, 1931, on a farm in the town of Liberty near Viola, the daughter of Everett and Olga (Peterson) Nicks. Jeanette graduated from Richland Center High School in 1949 and the Richland Teachers College in 1951. Jeanette married Everett C. Anderson in Topeka, Kansas, on June 16, 1951. Jeanette was a teacher at Pleasant View School and later worked for Rock County Department of Social Services for 13 years. Jeanette was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richland Center, where she was the treasurer for more than 10 years. She loved playing bridge, putting together puzzles, solving crypto quotes, and going to Ho- Chunk.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Bradley (Sarah) Anderson of Muncie, Indiana, Sharyl Reitz of Baraboo, Sonia (Dale) Thompson of Janesville, Gregory Anderson of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Monica Williams, Jacqueline (Dan Bartusiewicz) Reitz, Krista (Chris) Olsen, Matthew (Janelle) Thompson, Eric Anderson, Lisa (CJ) Peterson, Tasha Anderson, Maia Anderson, Allison Anderson, John Anderson; great-grandchildren, Dante, Sadie, Whitney, Rosemary, Lydia, Alexander, Angelica; brother Ronald Everett Nicks of Milwaukee and Sarasota, Florida; other relatives and friends.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Everett “Andy” Anderson; her parents; special grandmother Lura Peterson; and son-in-law Mark Reitz.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Richland Center, with a burial in the Viola Cemetery to follow the luncheon. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at the church. The family suggests memorials in Jeanette’s name be made to the First Baptist Church in Richland Center. Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
