Norman T. McChesney

TOWN OF Packwaukee -- Norman T. McChesney, 91 of the town of Packwaukee, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1917, in the town of Arpin, son of Errol and Mary Beggs Cutler McChesney. Norman married Eunice Grant on Aug. 10, 1941. She preceded him in death Sept. 9, 1999. He farmed in the towns of Packwaukee on the family farm since 1950. Norman was an active member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oxford. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.

Survivors include two children, James (Carol) McChesney and Janice (Sonny Klawitter) Walters, both of the town of Packwaukee; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Jan) McChesney of Florida, Brenda Smith of Florida, Sherry Schultz of Illinois, Theresa Symonds of the town of Packwaukee, Rebecca Boyle of Adams and Daniel (Sara Smalley) McChesney, Guy (Jenny) Walters and Erika (Luke Miller) Walters, all of the town of Packwaukee; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Roselyn "Posy" Edwards of North Carolina; and other relatives and friends. Norman was preceded in death by one brother, Robert McChesney.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Oxford, with Pastor Wendell Springer and Pastor Christian Ronalds officiating. Interment will be in Underhill Cemetery, town of Packwaukee. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church.
