MAILBAG: Many helped out in wake of tornadoes
The April 25 tornado in the Wyocena area showed the best of a large group of people.
Thanks go out to the Storm Spotters, local fire and emergency ambulance providers, county and local law enforcement, County Emergency Management, Columbia County Highway Department workers, and utility providers.
Our local fire and ambulance people are all volunteers, and many thanks go out to them. Knowing they are trained and out at times like this is often overlooked. Red Cross, local merchants and area and distant volunteers were all immensely helpful.
To these people and all who assisted us, we can only say, "thank you." We are most grateful for all you have done.
Doug Cole, town of Wyocena chairman, Pardeeville
