GOLF: Swan leads Warriors at Wild Rock

Portage junior Lee Swan won medalist honors with his 72 and the Warrior boys golf team finished in second place with a 316, one shot behind Reedsburg Blue, at the Wild Rock Invitational at the Wild Rock Golf Course in Wisconsin Dells on Friday.

After Swan's 72, which included a 35 on the back nine, Portage's next three golfers all came in with scores in the low 80s. Mitch Seubert had a front-nine 38, while Travis Seubert finished with an 81 and Brian Hart carded an 83.

"These guys are all about the team first and we know it takes four good scores to compete at this level.  Mitch, Travis, and Brian played very solid out there today," Portage coach Ed Carlson said. "When the highest score you have to count is an 83, you know good things are going to happen. We are looking forward to building on this performance."
