BASEBALL: Bulldogs beat Westfield with hot bats
Pardeeville picked up its fourth straight victory with a 13-9 non-conference win in Westfield on Monday afternoon.
Pardeeville's Tanner Westbury struck out five in four innings of work to get the win on the mound. Westbury was also 3-for-3 at the plate for the Bulldogs.
Pardeeville pounded out 16 hits to continue it's streak of hot hitting. The Bulldogs are averaging over 11 runs a game during its four-game winning streak.
"We're continuing to hit the ball," said Pardeeville head coach Bill Hebl.
Hebl also said his team was close to adding to its hit total, but hit a few balls right at Westfield defenders.
"There were three shots that were (caught). One at the pitcher, one at the center fielder, one at the right fielder, that were just shots. If they go either way, we would still be running," Hebl said. "I can tell the kids, 'it evens out. You get one that's just a blooper and it's a base hit in the scorebook and the next time up you hit a liner that's got base hit all over it and it's an out.'"
Westfield was led by senior Cameron Klump, who was 3-for-4, including a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Alan Johnson also had a pair of hits for the Pioneers, including a double and a triple.
