The Board of the Friends of the Portage Library and the Portage Library Foundation invite the community to join in the celebration of our library with “Pizzazz” from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 14, at Portage Public Library, 253 W. Edgewater St., Portage.

The event will feature entertainment by the Cheddar Chicks, a five-woman women a cappella group, as well as finger foods, beverages and raffle items.

Raffle prizes are on display at the library, and tickets are $2 each, available at the library through 5 p.m. Oct. 14. The raffle drawings will be held after the close of raffle ticket sales. Winners need not be present to win.

The Friends of the Library has traditionally held its annual meeting in October, but this year the board revised the format to encourage more socializing and entertainment. At the conclusion of the event, members of the Friends of the Portage Library are asked to attend a brief meeting to approve the Friends’ proposed budget for the 2017-18 fiscal year and elect the board members and officers.

All of the proceeds of “Pizzazz” will be used to support the Portage Library’s programming and its services to the community.
