This STEAM-based program is for children ages 4 to 6 who are attending a prekindergarten program (Head Start, homeschooled as well as preschools) and are not enrolled in weekly preschool story times. Each month will feature a different topic: science, technology, engineering, art or math. This month kids will learn about weighing items with a variety of scales. Prevent Suicide Columbia County QPR suicide prevention training: 5:30 to 7 p.m. River of Life Church, 102 W. Franklin St., Portage. There is no cost for attending. “QPR” stands for Question-Persuade-Refer. It helps give people the right “tools” for when someone they know might be thinking of suicide and how to get them help.
