CAMBRIA -- The 73rd annual Gymanfa Ganu Celtic Cultural Celebration will be held at 2:30 and 6 p.m. with a meal served between on Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 121 W. Florence St., Cambria.
All are welcome to attend a Welsh hymn singing featuring director Karen Jones Wojahn and organist Steve Jensen.
Gymanfa Ganu translated means "a gathering to sing or singing session." The Cambria Gymanfa Ganu Association holds this tradition event each year to honor the heritage and historic identity of its community.
Bonnie Williams, president of the Cambria Gymanfa Ganu Association, fashioned the traditional ceremonial Welsh clothing that once belonged to her mother-in-law, Anna Mabel Williams, one of the association founders. The outfit includes a full-length black skirt, red cape, white apron and black flat-brimmed hat.
