Westfield Tech Ed students send words of encouragement

Pictured from left, row one, are Westfield Area High School students, Andrew Zehner, Brandon Chambers, Collin Slife, Kyle Anagnostopoulos and Katie Hadlock; row two, Sydney Jenkins, Morgan Wyatt, Marissa Marchand, Cassandra Tomac, JoAnn Davis and Abby Colmer.

Students in Mr. Rodger’s technology and engineering graphic communications class at Westfield Area High School recently created inspirational wooden plaques.

Students designed the plaques using the Photoshop editing program, and created the plaques by using the laser engraver within the Tech Ed Department.

These plaques will be donated to a local hospital where they will be given to patients and families that are in need of a little “pick me up” during a difficult time in life.

Students enjoyed creating the inspirational sayings on the plaques, and are proud that their efforts will help bring a smile to someone’s face during a time in life when smiles are not so easy to come by.

Several examples of the sayings on the plaques are: “Difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.” “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.” “Sometimes, real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles.”
