The Lodi boys basketball team was unable to keep up in the second half, falling to host Edgerton, 61-48, in a WIAA Division 3 regional final on Saturday night.
The third-seeded Blue Devils, coming off a 66-59 win over Madison Edgewood on Friday, got off to a strong start. Lodi (14-10) stayed with the second-seeded Crimson Tide (19-5) throughout the first half as the teams went into the break knotted at 26.
After the intermission, however, Edgerton began to pull away, ultimately outscoring the Blue Devils 35-22 over the final 18 minutes to deny Lodi its first regional title since 2016.
Senior Jackson Kolinski scored a team-high 13 points and senior Canyon Bacon added 11 but were the only two Lodi players in double figures. Edgerton senior Jacob Fox led all scorers as the 6-foot-3 forward notched a game-high 21 points, including five 3-pointers.
