Between 7:59 a.m. Monday and 7:25 a.m. Thursday police responded to 107 calls.

Police received seven reports of vandalism including spray painting of “RPG” on signs and buildings, and theft of outdoor Nativity figures.

West Oneida Street: Police on Monday at 10:05 a.m. responded to a report of a lewd text message after which Ralph Czuczko, 50, of Portage, was issued a municipal ordinance citation for telephone obscenity.

Wayne Bartels Middle School: Police on Monday at 12:34 p.m. responded to a report of an out-of-control student. The 12-year-old boy was sent home to be referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for disorderly conduct.

Portage High School: Police on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. conducted a K9 vehicle search, resulting in a 17-year-old girl being issued a municipal ordinance citation for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A search of the same vehicle also resulted in a 16-year-old girl being referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for possession of drug paraphernalia and a citation for possession of tobacco by a minor on school property.

Portage High School: Police on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., following a K9 vehicle search, cited Emily Vander Werff, 31, of Rio, for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rusch Elementary School: Police on Tuesday at 11:09 a.m. responded to a report of a 9-year-old boy who was hitting, kicking and spitting on staff, who will be referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for battery.

Henry Drive: Police on Tuesday at 9:27 p.m. responded to a domestic disturbance where a 33-year-old Portage man was arrested for violation of probation as well as on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

West Franklin Street: Police on Tuesday at 9:48 p.m. responded to a disturbance where an 11-year-old Portage boy had allegedly kicked a hole in a vehicle. He was referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for criminal damage to property.

New Pinery Road: Police on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. encountered Daniel Marinko, 27, of Portage, who was arrested for violation of probation and later charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and obstructing an officer.

West Pleasant Street: Police on Wednesday at 9:15 p.m. encountered Christine Jowett, 44, of Portage, who was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle as a fourth offense and reckless endangerment by intoxicated handling of a firearm.
